As the story is told, a brash, arrogant king was turned into a peasant-sculptor by Zeus. In his solitude, he fell in love with one of his creations, and named the statue Galatea. His creation became his dream and his passion for life and love.
Feeling pity for such abandoned emotion, Aphrodite made Galatea into a real woman, and it is said that the king and his new queen defined what ecstasy is described as.

To this day, Galatea is found on the bowsprit of sailing vessels to guide the purest of dreams, hopes, and aspirations for their sailors.
